Liverpool is looking ahead to the future, after a summer transfer window that had some success, some failure, and plenty of money spent.
While the Reds look towards a replacement for Richard Hughes as sporting director, internal work will already be prepared for the next few months and the key decisions that will need to be made.
From contract decisions to potential incomings and outgoings in the January transfer market, there is plenty that the Merseyside outfit needs to look at in depth for the future. So, with that said, here's a look at the latest Liverpool transfer news and rumors ahead of another busy day of action.

Liverpool ace Florian Wirtz has been linked with a potential move to Bayern Munich in recent weeks, as reports have suggested that interest still remains from the Bundesliga champions, despite his struggles in the Premier League.
However, Christian Falk reports that Bayern Munich is not actively working on a deal to sign the 23-year-old as things stand. It's stated that the Bavarian side has retained interest, in case a deal becomes possible, but there isn't an active move being made for the playmaker as things stand.
It remains to be seen if that changes in the coming year, though it would likely depend on Liverpool being open to an exit for Wirtz next summer.
Liverpool.com says: It's no surprise that Bayern Munich isn't actively working on Wirtz at the moment, considering that all the focus is on him succeeding at Liverpool.
That may obviously change if an exit becomes possible in the next year, with Bayern's background interest at least offering an exit route for both the player and the club if things don't work out as planned.

Another Liverpool star who has been linked with a surprise exit is Rio Ngumoha. Reports have recently surfaced that Arsenal has interest in the young winger, as the North London side looks to bolster its frontline.
With that in mind, Fabrizio Romano has backed up those claims of interest from the Premier League champions, but adds that the Reds are also working on a new contract.
Taking to his YouTube channel, he said: "If there is a chance to sign Rio Ngumoha in 2027, 2028 or whenever, for sure Arsenal would be among the clubs interested. And not only Arsenal. I am sure there will also be clubs from abroad.”
“There will be strong interest in Rio Ngumoha," he continued. "But at the moment, Liverpool want to keep the boy, and Liverpool are discussing a new contract with Rio.
“There are conversations ongoing about the contract. Then you still need to get it done. You still need to give the guarantees the player wants and find the balance on every single point."
Liverpool.com says: It's no surprise that there is interest in Ngumoha, considering what he is already capable of at such a young age, so teams trying their luck is only natural.
Liverpool's attempts to land a new contract for the winger will be key, as he can now sign a long-term deal after recently turning 18. It remains to be seen whether an agreement can be reached, but there is a chance to secure the future with him in the frontline.
