Alexis Mac Allister has revealed he becomes frustrated with Liverpool's youngsters during training sessions due to his desire to see them flourish. The Argentine maintained his exceptional form this campaign against Tottenham, netting the opener at Anfield before setting up Gakpo's goal.
The 27-year-old featured alongside Nyoni and McConnell in the engine room, with man of the match Lewis Koumas operating further forward. The academy trio delivered commanding displays on Tuesday evening, and the World Cup winner discussed the efforts he's making to ready the youngsters for the next phase of their careers.

He said: "It was really important for the young players. They show every single day in training that they want to be here. They work really, really hard and they have quality. I'm really happy for them because they deserve this in training.
"I focus quite a lot on them and I get angry. I think it's part of me wanting them to succeed. As I said, they're really good. They have quality, they are intense and they know what the club means. It's important and they are going to be really important for us this season."

Liverpool have no intention of parting with Rio Ngumoha and are anticipated to present the 18-year-old with a fresh contract soon. The England international has drawn attention from Bayern Munich over the past year following an impressive breakthrough campaign last term.
The winger's existing deal runs until 2028, and having turned 18 last month, Ngumoha is now able to commit to a long-term arrangement with the Reds, no longer restricted by contract-length regulations for younger players.
