Brooklyn Nets forward Michael Porter Jr. is not convinced the Los Angeles Lakers have built a championship-level roster for the 2026-27 season, saying so during an appearance on N3on's stream.
"Yeah. I don't like that roster," Porter said after the Lakers' depth chart was read to him.
When asked whether he viewed Los Angeles as a championship team, Porter was even clearer.
"To be a championship roster? They might be solid, but I do not see them winning a chip."
The Lakers have gone through major roster changes this summer after finishing last season 53-29.
LeBron James, Marcus Smart, Rui Hachimura and Jaxson Hayes are among the players who left, while Los Angeles made several additions around Luka Doncic and Austin Reaves.

Los Angeles' biggest move was acquiring Walker Kessler from the Utah Jazz in a sign-and-trade. The Lakers sent two first-round picks and two first-round swaps to Utah before signing Kessler to a four-year deal.
The Lakers also signed Quentin Grimes, Sandro Mamukelashvili, Collin Sexton, Kevon Looney, Matisse Thybulle, and Ziaire Williams in free agency.
Jaden Hardy arrived from Washington in the trade that sent Deandre Ayton to the Wizards.
Los Angeles also re-signed Reaves to a four-year contract.
Porter, meanwhile, made a much more optimistic prediction about his own Nets, saying he believes Brooklyn can win more than 50 games next season.
