**There are “no suggestions” that Liverpool winger Rio Ngumoha is unhappy at Anfield despite links with a move to Arsenal, according to _The Athletic_ reporter David Ornstein.**
The journalist has confirmed that the Premier League champions are keeping tabs on the teenager, but a transfer to the Emirates is currently not on the cards:
“I think that there is some interest from Arsenal in Rio Ngumoha. I did hear over the summer that they like him – there is surely interest from lots of clubs – it doesn’t mean Liverpool are going to sell him.”
“Liverpool want to renew his contract; I don’t know of an agreement yet on a new deal. We’ll have to wait and see what happens between him & Liverpool, because there’s no suggestion that he’s unhappy there.”
When does Ngumoha’s contract run out at Liverpool?

The 18-year-old signed a new three-year extension in September 2025, just a little over a year after his arrival from Chelsea.
Ornstein’s remarks that the Reds are trying to tie down Ngumoha to another contract so soon are quite surprising, but they may be trying to ward off other suitors.
Before the Arsenal rumours, it was reported in the summer that Bayern Munich made enquiries about his availability.
Iraola is spoilt for choice on the left

One concern that Ngumoha may have about his prospects at the club is the sheer number of wingers in the first-team squad who favour the left flank. [**Bradley Barcola**](https://walkon.com/blog/top-5-fastest-players-premier-league/), Cody Gakpo and even Victor Munoz prefer to play on that side.
It means someone will have to play out of position on the right, and it appears Ngumoha has drawn the short straw. 2 of his 3 starts this season have been on that wing, and he hasn’t looked that comfortable.
For that reason, he may be considering whether he would be better off at a club where things are not as crowded on the left.
