Cole Palmer has hit back at Graeme Souness after the former Liverpool midfielder made a claim about the Chelsea star’s behaviour during an encounter in Dubai.
Souness previously alleged that Palmer had been “extremely rude” to someone in a restaurant while discussing the midfielder’s character following his omission from England’s World Cup squad.
Palmer has now responded directly to that account during a Twitch stream.
“That is just a load of nonsense,” Palmer said, before adding: “You know when people talk to stay relevant.”
The response provides Palmer’s side of a story which had resurfaced in recent days after Souness’s remarks were discussed again online.

Cole Palmer responds to Graeme Souness claim
Souness first made the comments while discussing whether Palmer should have been selected for England at the 2026 World Cup.
Although the former Liverpool captain described the Chelsea attacker as an “outstanding” player, he questioned Palmer’s character based on an encounter he said he witnessed in Dubai.
As detailed in reporting on Souness’s original Cole Palmer comments, he claimed the Chelsea player had been “extremely rude to someone in a restaurant”.
Palmer has now firmly disputed that version of events.
His response was highlighted by Si Phillips Talks Chelsea after Palmer addressed the allegation on Twitch, with the 24-year-old dismissing the suggestion outright.
There has been no further explanation from Palmer about the encounter itself, so the exact circumstances surrounding Souness’s allegation remain unclear.

The exchange comes while Palmer continues to play a major role under Xabi Alonso.
Chelsea’s No.10 has formed an exciting attacking partnership with Morgan Rogers and João Pedro during the opening weeks of the campaign.

For Palmer, though, his message regarding Souness’s comments could hardly have been clearer.
