With everything going on upstairs, Xabi Alonso will be desperate to end the first period of the season with a win. Friday night sees Chelsea go to Brentford, and Eden Hazard is excited.
Chelsea’s trip across West London sees them go up against Keith Andrews’ impressive Brentford side, who remain unbeaten after six matches in all competitions. The Bees have scored 15 goals in six matches.
With Chelsea doing business in the boardroom, Alonso will be hoping his side can do the business at the G-Tech Stadium. Morgan Rogers, Cole Palmer and Joao Pedro will be tasked with taking Brentford down.
Eden Hazard loves what he’s seeing from Xabi Alonso’s side
There is doubt regarding Joao Pedro going into Friday’s fixture, with the striker in and out of training this week. But Alonso has confirmed that Pedro will be available to play against Brentford on the weekend.

That is despite the striker being pulled out of Brazil’s squad to face Australia and India during the break. Speaking to Sky Sports, Hazard shared that he is growing excited because of Chelsea’s front three.
“You know, it’s a new manager, new team, new players. So we want to see Chelsea at the top again. I like it [the front three]. I like when they link together. Of course I want them to score a lot of goals, and often.”
Hazard was then asked if he felt Pedro, Palmer and Rogers were up there with his front three: “Compared to the front three you played in at Chelsea, would they be up there with them, standard-wise?”
“Yeah, I think so. We need to give them time; Rogers is new. Cole still has the quality. I just want to see them having fun on the pitch, scoring goals, and as a Chelsea fan, we want them to win things.”
Rogers has already matched Hazard record at Chelsea
England star Rogers has made a stunning start to life at Chelsea. The £117m signing has seven goals and assists in six matches, scoring three goals and laying on an assist in his four Premier League appearances.

He is the first player to record a goal or an assist in Chelsea’s first four Premier League games in a season since Eden Hazard did it back in 2018-19. He joins an impressive list alongside Didier Drogba and others.
Keeping that front three fit is pivotal to Chelsea’s campaign. Rogers has been immense, like the other two he shares the final third with, but if Chelsea are to have success, it is the other end that needs changing.
