The 16-year-old opted against signing a scholarship deal at Anfield over the summer and, as reported by The Athletic, Arsenal have now reached an agreement to bring him to north London.

Joseph, who scored three goals in two appearances in the U18 Premier League last season and has eight goals in nine caps for England U16s, is yet to be unveiled by Arsenal, but his proposed transfer to the Gunners is set to be announced shortly after he confirmed his Liverpool exit.

“After 9 unforgettable years, the time has come to say goodbye,” Joseph posted on his Instagram account. “Thank you for the memories, and for making my time here truly special. YNWA.”

When the transfer becomes official, he will become the latest academy starlet to join Arsenal, who bolstered their youth ranks with the signings of Habeeb Ogunneye, James Scanlon, Igor Tyjon, Axel Donczew, Mylo Bernard and Elijah Upson over the summer.

In addition, Arsenal have also finalised deals for Ecuadorian twins Edwin and Holger Quintero, Northern Irish goalkeeper Phoenix Blayney and Georgian winger Andria Bartishvili to join the club next summer. Meanwhile, Republic of Ireland youngster Victor Ozhianvuna will arrive from Shamrock Rovers in January.

Who will Arsenal sign in 2027?

After finalising the signing of Joseph, the Arsenal hierarchy will turn their attention to first-team signings for 2027.

They have been tentatively linked with a bombshell move for Liverpool forward Rio Ngumoha, amid their pursuit of a new left winger, while they could look to rekindle their interest in Julian Alvarez, following his failed bid to leave Atletico Madrid before Deadline Day.

Midfield and defence will also be addressed, with a new right-back potentially on the agenda if Ben White departs.

In addition, the Gunners are also in advanced contract talks with Declan Rice, Jurrien Timber and Martin Odegaard, while they are on the verge of finalising a new deal with Arteta.
