Everton return to Premier League action against Ipswich Town at the Hill Dickinson on Saturday after booking their place in the fourth round of the Carabao Cup in midweek.
Charly Alcaraz’s late goal secured a 1-0 win over Wolves on Wednesday, following the goalless draw at Tottenham last weekend. Ipswich arrive having lost 4-2 at home to Arsenal in the Carabao Cup on Tuesday, but they won 3-2 at Crystal Palace in their last Premier League game.
Kick-off is at 3pm BST, with Stuart Attwell appointed as referee. We looked at Attwell’s appointment ahead of the game here.

3 May 2025 Everton 2-2 Ipswich Draw
Iliman Ndiaye and Michael Keane scored in a 2-0 victory at Portman Road in October 2024, but Ipswich produced a comeback in the return game at Goodison Park.
Everton led 2-0 through Beto and Dwight McNeil before Julio Enciso’s superb long-range strike gave Ipswich hope. George Hirst then headed a late equaliser to make it 2-2.
Ipswich’s relegation had already been confirmed by then, but they have since returned to the top flight, and Saturday will be their first visit to the Hill Dickinson.
Everton building an unbeaten run
Moyes’ side have become increasingly difficult to beat, with Wednesday’s victory over Wolves extending their unbeaten run in all competitions to six matches.
Everton’s last six Competition Result

Tottenham v Everton Premier League 0-0
Everton v Man Utd Premier League 2-2
Bournemouth v Everton Premier League 1-1
Preston v Everton Carabao Cup 4-0
Everton v Crystal Palace Premier League 2-0
The last two have also brought successive clean sheets. Everton had to defend for long periods at Tottenham before Moyes changed his side for the Wolves tie, which was settled when Tyler Dibling created the opening for Alcaraz 10 minutes from time.
James Garner has since revealed that the players have discussed trying to make a serious run in the Carabao Cup, with Newcastle United awaiting at the Hill Dickinson in the fourth round.
For now, attention returns to the Premier League and an Ipswich side whose early results have been anything but dull.
Ipswich carrying a threat despite defensive problems
Ipswich have won three and lost three of their last six matches in all competitions, scoring 12 goals but conceding 15.
Ipswich’s last six Competition Result
Ipswich v Arsenal Carabao Cup 2-4
Crystal Palace v Ipswich Premier League 2-3
Ipswich v Liverpool Premier League 0-2
Man Utd v Ipswich Premier League 5-2
Ipswich v Leicester Carabao Cup 3-1
Ipswich v Sunderland Premier League 2-1
The numbers offer a fairly clear warning for Everton. Ipswich have scored in five of those six matches and managed three away at Crystal Palace, but they have also conceded four against Arsenal and five at Manchester United.
Everton’s recent record is steadier. Moyes’ side have conceded only three times across their last six matches and have not lost since their opening two Premier League games of the season.
The last meeting between the clubs offers another reason not to assume too much. Everton were two goals ahead at Goodison that afternoon and still had to settle for a point.
Moyes will be looking for a more complete afternoon when Ipswich make their first trip to the Hill Dickinson.
