Liverpool is back in Premier League action for one last time before the three-week international break, with a clash away at Bournemouth on the horizon.

‌

Andoni Iraola will return to his old side with the hope that his new team can land all three points to end the first phase of the season on a high note.

‌

The Reds have had mixed fortunes so far across all competitions. There have been no defeats to speak of yet, and while there are a few wins to shout about, there are concerns over the lack of cutting edge and sharpness in a few draws.

Bournemouth will provide a huge test for Liverpool, having displayed an ability to press relentlessly and catch the opposition off guard if they are not keeping up with the speed of the game.

For such a match, Iraola will be preparing the players thoroughly, with Thursday's training session offering an insight into the key calls the manager will have to make.

So, with that said, here's a look at a few things spotted in Liverpool training ahead of the clash with Bournemouth.

Freddie Woodman returns

Third-choice goalkeeper Freddie Woodman was a surprise omission from the squad on Tuesday when Liverpool took on Tottenham in the EFL Cup, with Giorgi Mamardashvili starting the game, while Alisson was named on the bench.

The 29-year-old was absent due to the goalkeeper's wife giving birth to a baby boy, as he spent time with his family soaking in the special moment.

Thursday saw Woodman back training at the AXA Training Centre, with his teammates all giving him a congratulatory slap on the back to mark the occasion.

Alexander Isak looks sharp

Alexander Isak has already scored three goals this season, closing in on the four he scored last time out, and there is certainly hope he can provide plenty more as the campaign goes on.

The signs so far are promising, and training showed why once again. In one clip, the striker used his quick feet to move the ball from left to right, disorienting the opposition defender, before slotting the ball home.

It was reminiscent of the goal he scored against Ipswich Town, where several quick movements from Isak kept Jacob Greaves backing away, before he could slot the ball beyond Kjell Scherpen into the back of the net.

If the Sweden international can keep doing that, then he will certainly be finding the back of the net more.

Goals, goals, goals

In some games this season, Liverpool has struggled to score goals, lacking an injection of pace and tempo on the ball or an ability to find the right pass at the right time. This was especially the case against Fulham.

So it's no surprise to see the Reds practicing more and more on their ability in front of the goal. Clips showed several goals scored by the players, with many opportunities finding the back of the net.

Most notably, Bradley Barcola was sharp with his finishing, often drawing the goalkeeper in before finding a neat way to put the ball into the net. He'll certainly be hoping that can translate onto the pitch against Bournemouth this weekend.
