Tyler Dibling's man-of-the-match display for Everton against Wolves on Wednesday evening could prove to be a big turning point in his Toffees career.
Enduring a tough start to life on Merseyside following his £35million transfer from Southampton in 2025, the winger has mostly had to settle for minutes from the bench under David Moyes due to limited opportunities in the starting XI.
Dibling is still waiting for his first Premier League minutes of the season, instead having to settle for game time in both of Everton's Carabao Cup ties so far this term.
Handed a start for Wednesday's 1-0 win over Wolves, the England Under-21 ace caught the attention with a very impressive display and earned the man of the match award in the process, amassing an incredible 86.6 per cent of the votes on Everton's X account.
In the second half, Dibling, who teed up Charly Alcaraz for the winner ten minutes from time, came in for plenty of praise for two pieces of play seconds apart at both ends of the pitch.
Firstly, threading a precise through ball that presented Brennan Johnson with a glorious chance on goal that he spurned, the starlet then used his pace to race back towards his own goal and produce a stunning tackle on Jackson Tchatchoua to stop the Wolves man bursting into the area.
The Exeter-born player was hailed after the game, with Everton assistant Alan Irvine claiming the attacker now looks like "he belongs here" after such a difficult maiden season at the club.
“First of all, since he came back for pre-season, he's looked like he belongs here. He has looked more comfortable.
“He's a very quiet lad, Tyler, and it can sometimes take quiet lads, young lads, quite a bit of time to settle in, especially to a club like this with the expectations that are here, so that was probably difficult for him last year.
“But he's come back right from the first day of pre-season, looking much more comfortable in the environment and being able to play for a club of this size. So that's been good.”

Dibling has certainly given Moyes a big selection headache going into Saturday's Premier League encounter against Ipswich Town.
With Jack Grealish likely to start on the left flank, it will be between Dibling and Tyrique George to play from the right.
Even if he loses out to George for a starting spot, you would at the very least expect Moyes to give the youngster minutes from the bench for the first time in the Premier League this season as it's vital he builds on his eye-catching display against Wolves.
Previously not doing enough in his game time or having limited minutes to make a mark, Dibling now has the perfect opportunity to really kick-start his Everton career and display the kind of form on a regular basis that brought him to the attention of a number of clubs when he was a Southampton player.
Dibling's big night against Wolves could turn out to be a huge turning point in his Everton career.
