Scouts sent: Liverpool had made contact over signing of "really quick" £100m attacker

Liverpool have reportedly made contact with the representatives of Chelsea winger Estecao over a move to Anfield, with the Brazilian valued at around £100m.

Bradley Barcola may have come in from Paris Saint-Germain this summer, as well as Victor Munoz from Osasuna, but the Reds must continue eyeing future wide options to bolster Andoni Iraola’s squad.

Mohamed Salah is yet to be properly replaced on the right flank, and there are a lack of natural options in that area currently, which is far from ideal.

According to a new claim from Football Fancast, Liverpool “have contacted the representatives” of Estevao, as they attempt to “convince the winger to ditch contract talks at Chelsea.”

The Reds have “already sent their scouts to watch him in action”, but the Blues are trying their best to tie the 19-year-old down to a contract extension, even though his current deal doesn’t expire until 2033.

Estevao could light up Anfield for many years

Estevao is an exceptional young talent with a potentially huge future in the game, with Chelsea legend John Terry heaping praise on him in the recent past:

“Really, really like him. Exciting, strong, got so much potential. When you look at him, he’s really powerful, really quick and aggressive for someone so small. I’m excited for his Chelsea career I think he’ll go on an upward trajectory. He needs more game time soon which I think he’s going to get. I think rotation will be important as the season goes on.”

Like Salah, Estevao is at his best on the right wing, where he can cut inside and be a huge threat on his left foot, combining pace and ever-improving end product.

At 19, he has already scored five goals in just 11 caps for Brazil, as well as eight and four assists in 41 appearances in a Chelsea shirt, which is a solid return given his tender years.

The Blues are clearly keen to keep hold of Estevao, and won’t want to lose him to a direct rival, but Liverpool should be looking at him as a fantastic option, even though the £100m-ish price tag is far from cheap.
