NBA legend Shaquille O'Neal has added another special title to his resume.
FBI Director Kash Patel announced that the Hall of Fame center has been named an honorary FBI Special Agent following the graduation of the FBI National Academy's Session 299.
"This session is historic - FBI was honored to be joined by one of the best supporters of law enforcement in the country - Shaquille O'Neal - who graduated with this session and became an honorary FBI Special Agent," Patel announced on X.
Shaq has long-standing connection with law enforcement
This recognition is far from the first time O'Neal has worked alongside law enforcement.
The four-time NBA champion has maintained a strong interest in police work for decades.
During his playing career, he completed police training and served with several departments.
In 2005, while playing for the Miami Heat, O'Neal was sworn in as a Miami Beach reserve police officer after undergoing training. He had previously served as a reserve officer in Los Angeles and later joined the Doral Police Department as a reserve officer in 2015.
O'Neal has repeatedly spoken about his admiration for law enforcement, saying earlier in his career that he wanted to learn the profession rather than simply receive an honorary position because of his fame.
