The Philadelphia 76ers have endured an early injury blow ahead of their highly anticipated 2026-27 season.
The team announced in a press release on Thursday that an MRI showed Adem Bona has suffered a left foot sprain.
Bona will be reevaluated before the team's training camp.

Adem Bona is one of the top reserve bigs of the Philadelphia 76ers.
The Nigerian-Turkish center fulfilled his solid role as a backup for Joel Embiid in the Sixers last season, averaging 4.8 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 1.2 blocks while shooting 59.5 percent from the field in 17.4 minutes across 71 games (18 starts).
The franchise selected Bona with the 41st pick in the 2024 NBA Draft, and he is expected to step up again for the team's major new season following the dramatic superstar additions of Jaylen Brown and LeBron James.
76ers hopeful for a healthy Adem Bona before training camp
The Philadelphia 76ers will hold media day on Sept. 28, followed by training camp from Sept. 29 through Oct. 2. As such, the team can only hope Adem Bona has recovered significantly by then.
For now, the Sixers only have Ariel Hukporti and Dominick Barlow as their healthy backup bigs for Joel Embiid.
