Tuchel is set to announce his squad on Friday, with plenty of attention on his selection following England’s disappointing World Cup campaign.

According to BBC Sport’s Sami Mokbel, Liverpool winger Rio Ngumoha is among the players named in Tuchel’s provisional squad for the upcoming Nations League fixtures.

The 18-year-old was part of a four-man group that joined England’s senior squad for their pre-World Cup preparation camp. Ngumoha his debut aged just 17, coming on as a substitute in a 1-0 friendly win over New Zealand in Florida.

Mokbel said: “Rio Ngumoha and Lewis Hall are among the players to have been named in England manager Thomas Tuchel’s provisional squad for the forthcoming Nations League internationals, though it remains to be seen whether they make the final cut.

“Liverpool winger Ngumoha was part of a contingent of young players that flew with the England senior squad for their pre-World Cup training camp in Palm Beach.

“He was unexpectedly handed his debut in the warm-up game against New Zealand, impressing in a second-half cameo.

“But the 18-year-old is yet to be picked in a full senior England squad – although he is in with a chance of being selected by Tuchel for the forthcoming games against Spain, the Czech Republic and Croatia.”

Tuchel is not expected to name an expanded squad for the revamped three-week international break. While Jurgen Klopp has selected a 44-man Germany squad for four matches, Tuchel is expected to stick with around 25 to 26 players.

England will play their first match since the World Cup against Spain at Wembley on Saturday, September 26. They then travel to face Czechia on September 29 before visiting Croatia on October 3. The Three Lions will round off the break by hosting Czechia at Wembley on October 6.
