The England squad reconvenes for the first time since their World Cup heartbreak next week. Thomas Tuchel’s side lost to Argentina in the semi-finals before Spain went on to be crowned world champions over in the United States. The Three Lions at least finished third after a thrilling 6-4 win over France in the play-off, with Bukayo Saka scoring a hat-trick.

Today, Tuchel names his first England squad since then, ahead of Nations League matches with Spain, Czechia away from home, Croatia and Czechia at home. Among those who could return after missing the World Cup are Cole Palmer, Phil Foden and Dominic Calvert-Lewin.

Alex Scott call-up leaked

One player expected to be in today's confirmed squad is Bournemouth midfielder Alex Scott.

Like Rio Ngumoha and Lewis Hall, Scott also missed out on the World Cup.

The Telegraph say the uncapped Scott left an impression on Thomas Tuchel back in June at their pre-World Cup training camp in Florida.

And he could now be rewarded with his first senior appearance for his country.

Scott is likely to take the injured Jordan Henderson's spot.

Rio Ngumoha decision made

So we know that Thomas Tuchel submitted a provisional squad, as per UEFA requirements, before he whittles it down to his final squad today.

BBC Sport say Rio Ngumoha and Lewis Hall are both on that provisional list.

The pair missed out on the World Cup squad but could make it into the 28-man group today.

Cole Palmer and Phil Foden are also on the provisional list, as are Myles Lewis-Skelly and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall.
