Teenage striker Floyd Samba stole the headlines on Wednesday night by scoring twice for Manchester City on his senior debut against Norwich City in the third round of the Carabao Cup.
A much-changed City side romped to a 5-0 victory over the Canaries, courtesy of Samba's brace, as well as strikes from Rayan Cherki, Allan and Ryan McAidoo. The victory keeps the Citizens' excellent run going under new manager Enzo Maresca, with the Italian's side winning each of their last six matches across all competitions, conceding just two goals in the process.
While this continuation of positive form will be the main takeaway for Maresca, the night belonged to Samba, who announced himself to the footballing world with two well-taken goals.
First showing good predatory instincts to nod home from close range, he then added a delightful second goal in the second half, curling beyond Daniel Grimshaw from inside the Norwich box.

When Samba was named in City's starting eleven for the clash with Norwich, many were quick to highlight that he shares a surname with Premier League cult hero Christopher Samba.
It turns out the City youngster is in fact the former Blackburn Rovers defender's son, and he has now followed in his father's footsteps by playing at the highest level.
Samba senior enjoyed an illustrious career spanning 26 years, enjoying stints at Blackburn, Queens Park Rangers and Aston Villa. He developed cult hero status amongst Premier League supporters largely due to his ability to play as both a striker and a central defender — a level of versatility rarely seen in the modern game.
His son has taken the latter route, establishing himself as a number nine throughout his youth career.
Floyd's old man was in attendance for the 17-year-old's professional debut on Wednesday, with Maresca calling upon the prolific young goalscorer against Norwich.
The television cameras unsurprisingly cut to Christopher after each of Floyd's goals, showing the former Premier League star celebrating his son's strikes wildly.

With Erling Haaland the only senior striker available to Maresca, Samba was always in contention to get a look-in during early rounds of the Carabao Cup
However, he certainly couldn't have foreseen how well his debut would go, and this was reflected in his joyous reaction to the occasion.
"I knew there would be an opportunity to get some minutes for the first time with the first team," he told BBC Radio 5 Live.
"I couldn't believe it myself - but that is just the beginning; I have got a big career ahead of me. It was a great debut.
"I spoke to all of them [first-team players], they have all been brilliant with me - before the game, giving me advice like 'play your game, be you' - those words have given me confidence and helped me score those two goals today."
