Arsenal has announced the acquisition of Vincent Joseph after the teenage talent rejected Liverpool's scholarship offer.
The 16-year-old, who caught the eye while representing Liverpool's U18 team last season, had also drawn attention from Manchester United and Chelsea. However, he has agreed to first-year scholarship terms with the Gunners, joining their academy setup.
Joseph netted twice in three outings for Liverpool's U18 team last season, having marked his debut at that level with a goal after just 10 minutes. The final transfer fee for Joseph will be determined by a tribunal after both clubs failed to reach an agreement on the teenager's valuation.
Arsenal confirmed the arrival of the England U16 international on Thursday, releasing an official statement which read: "We're delighted to confirm the signing of talented young England U-16s striker Vincent Joseph.
"The forward joins us as part of our first year scholarship intake for the 2026/27 season.
"After getting off to a brilliant start at under-18s level for Liverpool last season, Vincent is keen for more opportunities to develop his game.
"Our new striker will be hoping to help us chase trophies at Academy level this season, and his outstanding goalscoring record could prove important in such a push.
"As well as scoring three goals in his first two under-18s games last season, the England youth international has scored eight times in his nine games for the England under-16s side, also providing an assist.
"Vincent will link up with some familiar faces as he begins his time in north London, having worked with Emerson Nwaneri and Charlie Phillips at international level.
"The partnership between himself and Emerson has proved valuable for the Three Lions, something the forwards will look to replicate in north London.
"Everyone at Arsenal would like to welcome Vincent to the club and looks forward to seeing him in action for us this season and beyond."
Joseph had previously announced his departure from Liverpool via social media on Wednesday, posting on Instagram: "After 9 unforgettable years, the time has come to say goodbye.
"Thank you for the memories, and for making my time here truly special. @liverpoolfc YNWA."
