Liverpool boss Andoni Iraola has been full of praise for Alex Scott, claiming the star "deserved" a call-up to the England national team for the upcoming international break.
Scott, 23, played under Iraola for three years with the Cherries, as he progressed from a promising prospect to a regular starter under the Spanish coach. During that development period, the midfielder has seen his reputation grow, impressing in the Premier League and demonstrating an ability to compete at the top level as a deeper midfielder, a number eight, and even a number ten in a more advanced role.
There have been transfer links as a result, with just under two years remaining on Scott's contract, with plenty of teams eyeing a potential deal over the past few months.
Liverpool was heavily linked with the midfield ace, as a potential reunion with Iraola appeared to be on the cards, while Chelsea, Manchester United, and Arsenal have all been rumored with interest as well.
Bournemouth seemingly set a clear stance of no sale, but if there is no contract update in the next few months, then there will be pressure on the Cherries to sell, with Liverpool among those who could swoop in.
In the meantime, Scott will continue to progress, and his fine form has been rewarded with a first official England call-up. The midfielder impressed in a warm-up squad before the World Cup in the summer, adding some quality in depth to the team before the tournament kicked off.
Scott was joined by Rio Ngumoha in that endeavour, with both stars now called up to the senior squad fully, and Iraola asked about the impact of that.

He told the press: "Very happy, both (Alex Scott and Rio Ngumoha) deserve it, they helped the national team before the World Cup and did a good job. I can only speak so well about both, deserved, they are ready."
It remains to be seen how the two stars will do, if and when their opportunities in upcoming games comes along. England has clashes with Spain and Croatia, with a double-header against the Czech Republic also thrown into the extended three-week international break that is just around the corner.
That fixture schedule should create opportunities for both Scott and Ngumoha to feature in some capacity, which could take their reputation to the next level.
While Liverpool fans are well aware of what their winger can do, an insight into Iraola's former midfielder ahead of a potential future transfer could prove to be helpful.
It's unclear if Scott will end up at Anfield back with Iraola, but he is certainly proving that he can play at the top level, with plenty of potential for further development.
