**Chelsea forward Joao Pedro has suffered a knee injury, according to reports in the Brazilian media.**
The 24-year-old has an oedema, which [_ESPN Brasil_](https://www.espn.com.br/futebol/chelsea/artigo/_/id/17269025/tecnico-chelsea-surpreende-faz-misterio-lesao-joao-pedro-corte-selecao) claim should only keep him on the sidelines for “three and a half weeks” if his recovery goes to plan.
In reality, that means that Pedro will only be unavailable for one match – Friday night’s fixture against Brentford at the Gtech Community Stadium.
The Brazilian international should be back in contention for the Blues’ game against Bournemouth at Stamford Bridge on Saturday, October 10th. That will be a massive boost to Alonso, who will be keen to have him back in the fold as soon as possible.
