A high-profile charity match that will see Everton and Liverpool legends join forces against a Rest of the World XI will be shown live on Channel 5. The game is scheduled to take place on Saturday, September 26, with kick-off at 4.45pm, and will raise money for Everton in the Community and Shelter.

An all-star lineup will be co-managed by Everton legend Peter Reid and Liverpool hero John Barnes. The inaugural Game4Hope will now be played at Goodison Park, having originally been scheduled for Hill Dickinson Stadium.

The combined Merseyside team will feature Everton icons Leighton Baines, Gareth Barry, Phil Jagielka, Yakubu, Joleon Lescott and Louis Saha. They will line up alongside ex-Liverpool stars Robbie Fowler, David James, Ryan Babel, Jari Litmanen and John Aldridge.

Taking place during the international break, there will be a clamour to see the familiar faces go up against stars from around the world in aid of good causes. However, those not able to attend the match will be able to watch the game live on free-to-air TV.

The match will be broadcast live on Channel 5, with a stream also available on the broadcaster’s app and website. Katie Shanahan and Ade Oladipo will host the broadcast from 4pm.

A Paramount press release read: “Viewers can witness Everton and Liverpool legends put their famous rivalry aside to come together for a cause that matters, with proceeds supporting Everton in the Community and Shelter and their work tackling homelessness across Merseyside and beyond.”
