Kai Havertz To Lead The Attack: Predicted 4-2-3-1 Arsenal lineup vs Brighton & Hove Albion
League leaders Arsenal return to Premier League action on Saturday, when they travel to the Amex Stadium to face Brighton & Hove Albion.
The Gunners remain with an unblemished record across all competitions in the 2026-27 season. Teenage prodigy Max Dowman inspired them to a 4-2 away victory over Ipswich Town in the Carabao Cup third round on Tuesday. Before that, Mikel Arteta’s men secured a hard-fought 2-0 win over Sunderland at the Stadium of Light last week to make it four Premier League wins out of four.
Arsenal will look to make it five league wins on the trot at the weekend when they lock horns with Brighton, who secured a dramatic 3-2 comeback victory at Manchester United in the EFL Cup on Wednesday night.
Arsenal Team News
Several first-team players did not travel to Ipswich Town for the midweek cup tie, including Jurrien Timber and Piero Hincapie. Mikel Arteta confirmed that Timber was given rest and will be available for selection at the weekend. However, Hincapie missed the Ipswich game with a niggle and his participation remains doubtful.
Ben White, William Saliba and Cristhian Mosquera remain sidelined for Arsenal.
Predicted Arsenal lineup vs Brighton (4-2-3-1)
Goalkeeper
David Raya enjoyed a night off in midweek, with Kepa Arrizabalaga handed his first start of the season. On Saturday, Raya should be back in the Arsenal goal as the Spaniard looks to make it three clean sheets in a row in all competitions.
Defence
As Arteta confirmed Timber was rested as opposed to any fresh injury setback, the Dutchman might receive his first start of the season against Brighton. In that case, Timber will start at right-back in the Arsenal lineup, with Riccardo Calafiori being restored at left-back after being an unused substitute in midweek.
Gabriel Magalhaes will continue his partnership with Ezri Konsa in central defence in the Arsenal lineup. They have to be at their best to keep an in-form Brighton attack quiet.
Midfield
Myles Lewis-Skelly played the full 90 minutes against Ipswich in midweek, so Arteta is expected to not use him from the off. Instead, Bruno Guimaraes, who scored a belter in the 2-0 win over Sunderland, will get the green light to start alongside Declan Rice in the double pivot in the Arsenal lineup.
With their experience and ability on the ball, Bruno and Rice will try to dictate the tempo of the game at the Amex Stadium. Martin Odegaard is in the form of his life, and he will be key in unlocking the Brighton rearguard. The Norwegian will look to add to his tally of three goals in all competitions this season.
Attack
Kai Havertz has started the season very well, netting two goals in four league appearances. After a midweek breather, the German will be fresh to lead the Arsenal attack.
Bukayo Saka and Christos Tzolis will try to make life difficult for the hosts from wide areas. The duo will try to exploit spaces behind Brighton’s high defensive line and create opportunities for Havertz in the box. If the Gunners require fresh impetus in attack, Arteta will have the likes of Viktor Gyokeres, Mikel Merino, Eberechi Eze and Noni Madueke to bring on off the bench.
