**Lamine Camara should be Liverpool’s No.1 January target**

Camara is a fantastic young midfielder with a huge amount of potential, and he would give Liverpool the balance and defensive nous that they crave under Andoni Iraola.
The Senegalese covers ground with ease, and is also strong in possession, and Monaco manager [Filipe Luis](https://panafricafootball.com/article/lamine-camara-filipe-luis) called him a once-in-20-year player recently, saying:
_“Of everything I have seen, there is one player who stands out. I have never seen anything like it in 20 years, and that is Lamine Camara. He is a very different player from anything I have seen before. His ability to manage the field, his concentration, he is at a level far, far above average.”_
At this point, Camara does feel like an attainable option for Liverpool, and a player of his type is vital, with the likes of Ryan Gravenberch and Dominik Szoboszlai not suited to a double pivot.
