The New York Knicks have received an encouraging injury update on superstar guard Jalen Brunson ahead of training camp.
According to ESPN's Vincent Goodwill, Brunson is not expected to have any restrictions at the start of training camp after undergoing wrist surgery this offseason.
"[Jalen Brunson's] at about 80 to 85% after the wrist surgery that he had in July," Goodwill said on NBA Today. "He'll have no restrictions when training camp begins in a couple of weeks."
Brunson suffered wrist injury during the Knicks' Finals run
Brunson began experiencing wrist pain during the Eastern Conference Finals against the Cleveland Cavaliers.
He was later forced to undergo surgery on his left wrist during the offseason.
Despite dealing with the injury, Brunson still delivered when it mattered most and helped lead the Knicks to a historic championship.
He averaged 32.6 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 4.6 assists in 41.2 minutes and was named NBA Finals MVP. In Game 5, Brunson sent Victor Wembanyama and the San Antonio Spurs home with a historic 45-point performance to clinch the championship.
