**Lauren Hemp’s** two goals helped **Manchester City** secure the three points after beating a difficult **Liverpool** side 4-2 at the **Joie Stadium**.
**Hemp** opened the scoring from close range in the 11th minute, before **Liverpool** scored twice thanks to goals from **Alice Bergstrom** and **Vivien Endemann**. **Bunny Shaw** got **City** back on level terms on the stroke of half time.
The two sides looked to have secured a point a piece, but **Grace Clinton’s** cross a minute from time was turned into her own net by **Grace Fisk**. **Liverpool** then threw everybody forward and **City** lumped a ball forward to **Hemp** who blasted the ball past **Khiara Keating** to give **Andréé Jeglertz** side a hard earned three points.

After the game, **Hemp,** who had just reached a mouth watering 200 appearances for **Manchester City** at just 26 years old spoke to Sky Sports to give her reflections on the enthralling encounter in the East Manchester rain on Friday night.
She said: “It was a really hard game, **Liverpool** posed us a lot of threats, they had the momentum quite a lot of the time, especially in the middle of the first half and at the start of the second half and yeah obviously when we got that third goal, the one that Grace (**Clinton**) worked really hard for I think that kind of settled the nerves a little bit and we got the job done in the end.”
“I think at times we played the ball really well, it’s just about challenging them as much as we can, trying to get it as forward as quick as we can with the right tempo and I thought we did that in the end. Sometimes it’s not easy, but as long as we get the job done and keep pushing in the right direction that’s important.”

She added: “We’ve got a lot of depth within the squad, players came on, made a difference, so we really needed that especially when we were struggling at times. A bit of energy came on, people changed the game which was important for us.”
“I don’t normally score goals, so it’s nice to be on the score sheet for once, especially on that last one when I had so much time to score, but yeah I’m really pleased to get on the score sheet, but most importantly win the game.”
