In the battle between two West London teams, it was also 7th place vs 6th place and despite a close first half, it was three second half goals that meant the home team eased past Chelsea in the end.
A surprising outcome in the first 45 minutes, as neither side could break the deadlock despite both being free-scoring this season. A rare defensive positive for Chelsea as they looked far more controlled in longer periods than in any other game this season.
However, on the hour mark it was from a corner that saw Jaiden Anthony nod the first of their three home before Chelsea were left far too open trying to grab an equaliser and then Schade was played in and left 1-on-1 with Emi Martinez, and despite saving the German's shot, it fell straight to the feet of Igor Thiago who tapped it home into an empty net. Fabio Carvalho then scored in added time to complete Chelsea's misery.
A very worrying result for the Blues, as despite initially looking like their best defensive performance this season, they still conceded three and now have the worst defence in the league this season, conceding 12 in five games. The Spaniard's side now sit in 7th with a -2 goal difference.
### Emi Martinez - 5.0
Did what he needed to do in the first half, no amazing saves, but did the job fine. Looked calm on the ball as well. In the second half he could not have done anything about the goals, even stopped Schade from scoring what looked like a certain goal just before Thiago tapped it home.
Defence

### Wesley Fofana - 7.0
Looked very good in the first half, managed to deal with Schade and his speed, made 15 defensive contributions and had a 90% pass accuracy. Could only think he came off due to an injury worry or lack of match fitness, as it all went wrong after he came off.
### Maxence Lacroix - 4.5
Did not do as much as Fofana in the first-half, but marshalled the backline from the centre of the back three well. Could have prevented the first goal and also stepped out so unnecessarily for the second goal as well as keeping Schade.
### Levi Colwill - 4.5
Looked far more composed and solid than in the previous games in the first half but should have tracked and stayed on Igor Thiago for the second goal and needlessly stuck out a leg for the third and even if he got a stronger touch on it, the ball was heading towards the goal.
Midfield

### Pedro Neto - 3.5
Never really got into the game ever. He should have come off much earlier; lost 7/11 of his ground duels, had 1/5 successful dribbles, 1/4 accurate crosses, 41 touches and covered the 2nd least distance of the outfielders, less than Colwill and Lacroix (9.1km).
### Jordan Henderson - 5.5
Nothing special, but a solid job in the first half, putting in crosses, making some good forward passes, then in the second half was overrun and a few sloppy passes gave the ball away unchallenged. However, he did cover the second-most ground.
### Valentin Barco - 6.5
Was always looking to make an impact, always trying to play forward, was dogged and tenacious in his defensive work, a 92% pass accuracy, nine defensive contributions, probably the best player who played almost the full 90.
### Pep Chavarria - 5.5
While not much came to fruition for the Spaniard, he was always an outlet on that left-hand side, caused chaos with his runs on the overlap, covered the most ground in the game and had nine defensive contributions; however, 0/5 accurate crosses and in hindsight, made a terrible decision to shoot from a tight angle rather than pull it back for Palmer just before Brentford's first goal.

### Cole Palmer - 5.5
Was always looking to get on the ball and create chances, was surprisingly very good in his defensive work as well in the first half; however, went missing in the second half.
### Morgan Rogers - 4.5
Had probably the best chance of the first half, but it still wasn’t a big chance to score and then as soon as he went up front, he was completely out of the game, barely got a touch and made a terrible decision to try and run in behind the defence in the centre as Henderson played a pass into him that was clearly intended for him to hold up and back into the defence.
### Danny Welbeck - 5.0
Never really had any chances, didn’t get on the ball much and should have been marking Anthony for the goal.
