Andre Odom, Joey Porter Jr.’s agent, made a rare public comment Friday evening with the wish of putting Jaquan Brisker and Porter on the field together in the Pittsburgh Steelers’ secondary.
Odom’s comments stemmed from an Instagram story Brisker posted last month, eager to reunite with Porter after the two played at Penn State together.
“Admittedly, there is nothing I’d rather experience more than to see my two little brothers back together in the same secondary, again. They made history in college. They’d certainly do it now,” Odom wrote, tagging Porter and Brisker.

Brisker quoted Odom’s tweet with the praying hands emoji and made a separate comment that the duo would be “Kings of the North.”
It was Odom’s second non-reply tweet since August 23. Earlier in the day, he laughed at John Calipari favoring the “Protect College Sports” Act currently attempting to get passed through Congress.
There’s no telling when, or if, Porter and Brisker will get that chance. Porter has yet to play this season and was ruled out of Sunday’s Week Two game with a back injury. Pittsburgh seemingly declared Porter healthy on Wednesday by removing his back injury designation, but Porter left with a trainer early during Thursday’s practice and reappeared with a back injury later that day. A clear game of chicken between Porter and the team.
Odom and the Steelers weren’t able to agree on a contract extension by last Sunday’s deadline. Reporting indicates the deal never got close to being finalized. Pittsburgh doesn’t negotiate during the season, meaning Porter won’t get a new deal anytime soon. Trade rumors have continued swirling around Porter, but there’s been far more speculation than substance of teams currently having interest.
When an agent speaks, it’s worth listening. But Odom’s suggestion is just a wish compared to the reality of Porter not poised to play for the Steelers anytime soon and both sides possibly heading for a divorce.
