The University of Saskatchewan Huskies wore down both end zones Friday night in Edmonton.
The Huskies scored eight touchdowns during a 65-12 thrashing of the host Alberta Golden Bears, while running their Canada West record to 2-1.
A 31-point outburst in the second quarter gave the Huskies a 41-3 halftime lead over the winless Golden Bears, and they slowed down just a bit over the final 30 minutes.
Saskatchewan quarterback Anton Amundrud, who played a little less than three full quarters, completed 13 of 19 passes for 285 yards and six touchdowns. Freshman receiver Keaton Belsher, who caught seven balls for 180 yards during last weekend's 44-24 win over Calgary, maintained the hectic pace on Friday with four catches for 123 yards and two touchdowns.
The Huskies also got three catches for 121 yards and a touchdown from Kyle Conteh. Rhett Vavra caught two TD passes, while Dawson Lennea and Javin Boynton pulled one each. Aulain Penner added a four-yard touchdown run.
In Canada West's other Friday-night game, the British Columbia Thunderbirds beat the Regina Rams 25-20. Three teams - Saskatchewan, Regina and UBC - are 2-1. Calgary and Manitoba, both 1-1, meet on Saturday.
The Huskies, meanwhile, head back into action next Saturday when they play in Regina against the Rams.
