FC Barcelona have started the 2026-27 season in blazing fashion, having won all of their seven games, six in La Liga and one in the UEFA Champions League, quite convincingly. Going forward, the Blaugranes are set to play another game in the league, against Sevilla, tonight, before the September international break starts.
The Catalans have already published their [squad](https://x.com/FCBarcelona/status/2101233831831392589) for this game. The most notable changes in the list have been in the goalkeeping position, where Joan Garcia is absent, after [having suffered an injury in the last game against Racing Club](https://barcanewsnetwork.com/joan-garcia-escapes-serious-injury-after-being-forced-off-during-barcelona-win/). Hansi Flick has called up the youngster Iker Rodriguez to take Garcia’s position in the squad, but on the pitch, Wojciech Szczesny is expected to start, while Dominik Livakovic could also be an option.
Thus, the goalkeeper joins Frenkie de Jong and Roony Bardghji on the list of players who are unavailable for this game due to physical problems, as the latter two are also still recovering from their long-term issues.
Furthermore, Brian Farinas, who was given a first team number this summer, remains absent from the squad, as was the case for the Racing Club game. It is a similar case with Jesse Bisiwu, who will once again play for Barca Atletic this weekend. Hamza Abdelkarim, however, remains in the squad list.
