Two down and 15 to go. No team has ever gone 17-0 in the NFL. When the Patriots had their undefeated season, they went 16-0. The Buffalo Bills have now won their first two games of the 2026 season and have a decent chance of accomplishing this feat.
They have an easier, second-place schedule in front of them this season. Vegas has their o/u at 12.5 wins, which means they will be favored in the majority of their games.

Bills have a manageable path to 17-0

If we look at their schedule this year, there are only a few games that will be a coin flip that could trip them up. Their next two games are against the Chargers and Patriots at home. Starting the year 4-0 is going to happen. They then go to Los Angeles to play the Rams. If they can get past them, they have a very winnable game in Vegas against the Raiders. That gets them to 6-0.
After that, the only games that could pose a problem on the way to immortality are against the Ravens at home on 11/1, the Chiefs at home on 11/26, and the Bears at home on 12/19. If they can get through that gauntlet of three home games, they could very well be 14-0 heading to Denver to play the Broncos. Normally, I’d say that game would foil their odyssey, but after the way they looked last week against the Chiefs, they don’t look as imposing.
If they can navigate the mile-high city, that would make them 15-0. And they finish the season against the Dolphins and Jets…who will each be waiting to get a tee time by them. A perfect season is not out of the question. If the first weeks are any indication, Josh Allen seems like he’s on a mission. And while they did give up 31pts against the Texans, Houston has always been a house of horrors for Allen.
The Texans have one of the best defenses in the league, and Allen tore them apart, putting up 36pts. And yesterday, the Bills put up a 40 burger. Their D has given up 31pts in each game, which could prove to be their achilles heel, but they are averaging 38.5 pts per game. If they maintain anywhere near that offensive output, 17-0 is on the table.

When the Patriots went 16-0, Tom Brady passed for 50 TDs, and the team had a +315-point differential. In his first two games, Allen has nine total TDs. He’s on pace to account for 68 total TDs this season.
Aside from the games listed, a road game against the Packers, Patriots, or Vikings could sneak up on them, but perfection is attainable.
What a story it would be for the league’s best quarterback in the first season of their new stadium.
