**Thierno Barry scored the only goal as** [**Everton**](https://readeverton.com/) **beat 10-man Ipswich Town 1-0 at the Hill Dickinson to extend their unbeaten run to seven matches in all competitions.**
Barry struck after 11 minutes, getting the decisive touch to James Tarkowski’s effort to claim his fifth goal of the season.
Brennan Johnson had already gone close after being released by Harrison Armstrong, although Ipswich also made a lively start and Jordan Pickford was required to save from Emersonn.
Everton were ahead soon afterwards. Tarkowski tried his luck from distance, and Barry reacted inside the penalty area to divert the ball beyond Christian Walton.
Ipswich were not discouraged, and Pickford had work to do. Julio Enciso tested the England goalkeeper before Abdul Fatawu almost punished a loose Jarrad Branthwaite pass, with Pickford recovering to turn his long-range effort away.
Barry headed wide at the other end, and James Garner also tested Walton as Everton went into the interval with their lead intact.
Ipswich started the second half well, and Pickford was needed again, this time to deny Enciso.
Everton then thought they had doubled their advantage when Barry headed home from Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall’s corner. The goal was eventually ruled out after a VAR review, with Johnson judged to have been offside and interfering with Walton.
Tyler Dibling replaced Johnson shortly afterwards before Ipswich were reduced to 10 men in the 67th minute.
Fatawu, who had already been booked, went down under a challenge from Garner. Referee Stuart Attwell decided there had been no foul and showed the Ipswich winger a second yellow card for simulation.
Everton had more than 20 minutes against 10 men but could not find a second. Armstrong had one of their better late opportunities but opted to shoot with Dewsbury-Hall available alongside him.
Barry’s early goal proved enough.
It was Everton’s second 1-0 victory in four days following Wednesday’s Carabao Cup win over Wolves and another clean sheet for Moyes’ side.
