Konsa had ‘no excuses’ for Brighton beatdown

**Ezri Konsa** commented on a 3-0 loss for **Arsenal** against **Brighton**.

**·‘It's unusual for us to concede three’**

The _Gunners_ were far from their usual level at the **Amex Stadium**, last losing by this margin to the same opposition in May 2023. It is the first time that the defender has tasted defeat since his £51 million move from **Aston Villa**, and he does not want this feeling to become too familiar.

_“We weren't good enough. We set ourselves some high standards, and it's important that we don't let those standards go, like we did today. These are things we need to learn from very quickly._

_“We go into the break now, and it's time for us to reflect as individuals, collectively and when we do come back, we make sure we correct things that we didn't do right today._

_“We have to bounce back very quickly. In football, games come thick and fast, but obviously now we're going into the break._

_“I'm sure everyone, as individuals and as a team, will go back and focus on what we need to do to improve when we do come back here. We've had a very good couple of months leading up to today._

_“We obviously wanted to keep the momentum going, which we were doing. As I said, we know ourselves as players that today wasn't good enough. We have to work on what went wrong today._

_“The first two goals in the first half were very avoidable. We possibly could have put more pressure on the ball to stop shots. We didn't do it. We conceded goals, and when you give players in the_ **_Premier League_** _time to shoot from outside the box, these things can happen._

_“As you said, it's unusual for us to concede three. I pride myself on keeping clean sheets. We didn't do it today. It's time for us to go away and reflect and come back and do better.”_

_“Four games away from home, we managed to win three of them. There are no excuses. We just weren't good enough today. That's it. There's nothing much more I can say. We'll go away as individuals, and I'm sure with the staff we’ll go away and look at what we can do better.”_
