In the latest NFL rumors, an analyst suggested the Pittsburgh Steelers are linked to two NFC teams, but could instead trade to the Minnesota Vikings involving veteran quarterback Mason Rudolph. Bleacher Report’s Kristopher Knox said the Steelers could still trade Rudolph despite the bleak trade market he’s expected to be in. According to Long-time NFL Reporter Jason La Canfora, Pittsburgh will likely struggle to find a buyer since other quarterbacks could become available at the trade deadline, including Mac Jones, JJ McCarthy and Anthony Richardson.
“Other backups could be available, but teams also need depth and/or a spot starter. The Falcons have a quarterback mess on their hands. Over the past week, the Seattle Seahawks lost Sam Darnold to a hip injury. The Minnesota Vikings also lost Kyler Murray to a concussion,” Knox said.
While Seattle and Atlanta are excellent destinations, the Vikings are also in a “lackluster” quarterback situation, as Murray has been ruled out for Week Two. Knox didn’t name the Vikings as a possible destination, but brought the team up in the quote above.

In Week One’s comeback thriller over the Green Bay Packers, veteran Carson Wentz successfully led Minnesota to victory. However, it’s too early to remain confident.
Wentz struggled last season before injuring his shoulder, which ultimately ended his campaign. The Vikings remain hopeful that doesn’t happen.
If it does, the Vikings may have to trade for another quarterback. McCarthy is QB3, but his future remains bleak. If the Vikings trade for Rudolph in the next few weeks, expect McCarthy gone. For now, interested teams could keep tabs on the Steelers veteran if they’re only looking for a quick bridge starter.
