Chicago Bears TE Colston Loveland Put on Notice Before Vikings Game 1
The Chicago Bears are heading into a difficult Week 2 matchup against the NFC North rival Detroit Lions on Sunday. After dominating the Carolina Panthers in Week 1 by a final score of 59-37, the Vikings are expected to give the Bears a much more difficult game.
Brian Flores is one of the most creative defensive minds in the NFL. He’ll come prepared with a game plan to slow down quarterback Caleb Williams and the Chicago offense.
With that being said, Ben Johnson is one of the best offensive coaches in football. Since taking over as the head coach of the Bears, he has turned the franchise completely around. Just one week into the season, Chicago looks like a potential Super Bowl contender.
Keeping that in mind, one key offensive playmaker for the Bears has been put on notice before facing Minnesota.

Chicago Bears Tight End Colston Loveland Put on Notice Before Week 2
In order to defeat the Vikings and move to 2-0 on the young season, Chicago is going to need a much better showing from second-year tight end Colston Loveland.
During the Week 1 win over the Panthers, Loveland did not record a single reception. He was targeted twice throughout the course of the game.
FanSided’s Anthony Miller made it clear that the Bears need the young tight end to play much better this week.
“Zero catches is more than qualified to have Loveland on this list,” Miller wrote. “The Bears will need him to make a play at some point, so this feels like a game where he could be featured often. Loveland needs to make some plays in the passing game to help his quarterback out against a very good Vikings defensive line.”
Throughout the course of his rookie season, Loveland showed big-time potential. He played in 16 games during the 2025 season, catching 58 passes for 713 yards and six touchdowns. Even though it was just Week 1, some were concerned about Loveland’s lack of production.
Hopefully, Week 2 brings a difficult result for the former Michigan standout. It’s hard to think about Chicago’s offense being even more dangerous, but that is exactly what could happen if Loveland starts producing as expected.
