STEELERS SCOUT SAC STATE
Sacramento State made the historic jump from FCS to FBS in the MAC this offseason, and the Steelers are among the teams that have already taken notice of their incoming crop of draft eligibles. The Steelers and Detroit Lions were in attendance for practice this week, they announced on X.

Fifth-round OL Jackson Slater was drafted out of Sac State in 2026. They may soon have a larger footprint in the draft with an increased profile in college football.
KELCES IN AWE OF DARNELL
This isn’t the first time, and it won’t be the last, but the Kelce brothers were absolutely in awe of Darnell Washington in Week 1 for his stiff arm against Atlanta Falcons S Xavier Watts.
“He literally dribbled a human being off the ground like they did in Space Jam,” Travis Kelce said. “Why doesn’t he get the ball once a drive?”

REFS’ POINT OF EMPHASIS
The NFL officials are always given a point of emphasis (or two) at the start of each NFL season. This year, those are illegal contact by defensive backs and offensive pass interference, per Mark Maske of Front Office Sports. Both will have an impact on the passing game.
