Keyonte George says committing to the Utah Jazz long-term was a no-brainer.
Staying with the Utah Jazz and signing a long-term deal is an easy decision for Keyonte George.
During the Saturday press conference for his contract extension signing with the franchise, the Jazz rising star explained why he no longer considered entering next year's restricted free agency.
"Obviously, going through the process, I knew where I wanted to be," George told reporters. "Like I said, thankful to Austin [Ainge] and Ryan [Smith]. We were able to have some conversations throughout the whole summer and come to an agreement.
"But like I said, there wasn't any doubt in my mind or any pushback with anybody. This is my second family. I feel like Utah is my second family, so signing here and extending here honestly was a no-brainer."

Keyonte George signed a five-year contract extension with the Utah Jazz worth $157.5 million.
The deal does not include a team or player option.
This development came as a surprise, as past reports suggested George and Utah are unlikely to reach a rookie-scale contract extension this offseason.
In the end, both sides have landed a new deal that locks George as the Jazz's floor general in the long run.

Keyonte George admitted that he had some personal relief after hammering out a contract extension with the Utah Jazz.
George impressed many with his breakout run in the 2025-26 season. From averaging 16.8 points on 39.1% shooting last 2024-25, George elevated his numbers to a career-best 23.6 points on 45.6% shooting with 6.1 assists and 3.7 rebounds.
The 22-year-old is poised to be a major part of the Jazz's bold plans to finally compete next season after years of rebuild, joining Lauri Markkanen, Jaren Jackson Jr., Ace Bailey, and reigning No. 2 pick Darryn Peterson.
"Obviously, there's some relief. I get six more years in the NBA, so that's cool," George told reporters. "It's a lot of money, so that's cool. I'll be able to give myself something nice.
"It happened yesterday, so now we're over it. I celebrate today, enjoy it. Obviously, you fight hard for this moment, but now I got to get back to work."
