**_TalkSPORT_ pundit Simon Jordan has predicted that Lewis Hall will depart Newcastle United at the end of the season.**
The left-back only signed a new five-year contract earlier this month, but Jordan says that the player could still be on the move in the near future.
“This Lewis Hall thing, they’ve protected an asset. The kid’s better off playing at Newcastle for another year, and he’ll be gone in a year’s time.”
Hall expressed his delight when putting pen to paper on his extension last week, seemingly putting an end to speculation that he would leave St James’ Park.

Hall’s main suitors have not signed another left-back since having an enquiry knocked back for the England international during the summer transfer window.
The recent injury problems that Luke Shaw has encountered also increase the likelihood of the Red Devils making a move for reinforcements in the New Year.
It does suggest that United may make another attempt to buy Hall, but Newcastle have put themselves in the best possible position to see off any approach.

Hall may well be 100% committed to the cause, but if the Magpies don’t qualify for Europe for a second successive year as [**Alan Shearer predicts**](https://newcastleunitednews.org/blog/newcastle-united-news-alan-shearer-premier-league-prediction), then the defender might be tempted to leave.
Of course, with Manchester United struggling themselves currently, a transfer to Old Trafford may no longer be an attractive proposition for Hall anyway.
However, the fact that he seemed prepared to leave over the summer does suggest he is ambitious. Matthias Jaissle’s side may have to perform above expectations for him to be content to stay in the North East beyond next summer.
