A former England international has issued an update after shocking footage showing him being run over by a roller went viral on social media on Saturday evening.
Andros Townsend, 35, earned 13 caps for the Three Lions between 2013-2016 and is currently plying his trade in Thailand with PT Prachuap FC.
An exciting left-footed winger during the peak years of his career, Townsend is best remembered for his spells at Tottenham Hotspur, Newcastle United and Crystal Palace.
He had stints at nine different English clubs during his time at Tottenham before joining Newcastle on a permanent basis in 2016.
He went on to spend five years at Crystal Palace before spells with Everton, Luton Town and Antalyaspor.

Townsend spent last season with Kanchanaburi Power FC - suffering a heavy 8-0 defeat on his debut - but was unable to prevent the Thai outfit’s relegation from the top flight.
He put pen to paper on a deal with PT Prachuap last month, but was involved in a freak incident on Saturday.
Footage shows Townsend warming up before Prachuap’s away clash against Pattani before a man driving a roller loses control of his vehicle and drives straight into the English winger.
Townsend’s teammates and opponents watch in horror, while gasps are heard from the crowd, as the player’s legs are caught under the roller. Watch the footage below:
The Sun report that Townsend emerged unscathed; however, he spent most of the game on the subs’ bench, only playing the very last seconds after being sent on in second-half stoppage time.
Whether Townsend’s pre-match scare affected his playing time is currently unclear. He started both of Prachuap’s previous two matches against Rayong FC and Sukhothai.
After the match, Townsend reposted a video of the incident to his Instagram story, which included the caption: “Just another day in Thai football (he was fine!)”

Fortunately, it seems Townsend wasn’t badly injured. It could have been so much worse.
Townsend recently set tongues wagging with some unusual methods to keep himself as healthy as possible, including staring into the sun, making his own toothpaste and eating multiple boiled eggs on public transport.
