Chelsea Are Now In Danger Of Losing Out On £43M Transfer Windfall – Report

Alejandro Garnacho could end up returning to Chelsea next summer unless there is a dramatic “turnaround” in his fortunes at Aston Villa, according to the Daily Mail reporter Tom Collomosse.
The Argentinian did not even make it off the bench for the Carabao Cup third-round tie against Coventry City on Wednesday night.
After the game, Villa boss Unai Emery was asked about Garnacho, and the Spaniard replied by saying that the forward is “behind” others in the pecking order.
Collomosse says the former Manchester United winger is currently SIXTH choice in his position, with Ibrahim Mbaye, John McGinn, Emi Buendia, Alysson and even youngster George Hemmings ahead of him.
Chelsea could lose out on £43m
When Garnacho left on loan last month, it was reported that the purchase clause would be triggered as long as “easily achievable” conditions were met.
It is not known what the exact criteria is, but if Emery continues to snub the 22-year-old, there is a good chance that he won’t play the necessary number of games.
The purchase fee is reportedly £43m, so Chelsea would lose out on a sizeable amount of money if Garnacho does return to Stamford Bridge.

Villa have done this before
The Midlands club agreed a loan deal with Liverpool for Harvey Elliott last year, which included an obligation to buy for £35m if he played 10 Premier League matches. The attacking midfielder ultimately played nine games in total across all competitions.
From the looks of things, Garnacho could end up being a victim of the same tactic. Unless he really impresses Emery over the next few months and pushes the Spaniard to use him more regularly, it’s very unlikely that he will stay with the Europa League champions.
