Len and Agnes Worthington celebrated 42 years of marriage at Everton's new home.
AN EVERTON True Blue couple from Ellesmere Port had a wedding anniversary to remember when they took a guided tour of the club's Hill Dickinson Stadium.
Len and Agnes Worthington celebrated their 42nd year of marriage touring the pitch, shouting “up the Toffees” into the stands, and exploring the dressing rooms.
The tour guides also made an “official” announcement of the couple’s special day in the press room – to cheers and celebratory applause from fellow visitors.

The trip was organised by staff at Aaron Court Care Home, in Princes Road in Ellesmere Port, where Len, 89, has lived since October 2024.
During one of her regular visits, Agnes spoke to carer Valerie Farrington about her dream to take her husband to the Everton ground, which prompted activities coordinator Kirsty Lee to make arrangements.
Len has been a supporter since he was a child and even has a plaque at the stadium, which reads: “Len Worthington True Blue 1936”.

In the 1960s, Len volunteered at the team’s former ground, Goodison Park, to sell raffle tickets, and he still watches as many of the club’s matches as possible.
Kirsty was able to arrange the tour for Len and Agnes’s anniversary and went with the couple on the day, passing Port Sunlight, where they married in 1984, on the way.
She said: “When we arrived we were greeted with such great kindness from the security to the tour guides and staff – everybody was so welcoming, friendly and helpful.
“Everyone's generosity really made us all feel at ease and made our day extra special.
“From start to finish the tour was incredible. It was great to hear all of Everton’s history and the famous football players from past to present.
“It was a great moment walking through the Everton walkway heading onto the side of the pitch.
“Len was delighted listening to the Everton tune as we proudly strolled through, taking in the scenery and atmosphere around us.
“Thank you Agnes and Len for letting me celebrate a wonderful day with you both. It was a great privilege and honour to be part of.”
Agnes said: “Everyone at Aaron Court made our day exceptional.
“Big thanks to Kirsty who spent the whole day making sure we were okay. Plus big thanks to the team at Everton who went over and above.
“An anniversary that won’t be forgotten. Round of applause and big hugs everyone. Thankyou everyone for making this such a wonderful day for us.”
