Wataru Endo left out as 21-man Liverpool squad vs. Bournemouth ‘revealed’

Liverpool have travelled to Bournemouth with a 21-man squad, with Wataru Endo one of three players from the midweek cup match left out.

The Reds have no new injury concerns ahead of their final Premier League match before the extended international break, leaving Andoni Iraola with the same squad to choose from.

And the head coach’s travelling squad was revealed by onlookers as the team started their journey to the south coast on Saturday, with 21 players spotted.

Notably, Wataru Endo, Luke Chambers and James McConnell were the three players not pictured after being named in the midweek squad, though the latter was the only one to feature against Tottenham.

They make way for the returning Virgil van Dijk, Florian Wirtz and Kostas Tsimikas, who were all given the night off at Anfield as Iraola made 10 changes.

Goalkeeper Freddie Woodman, meanwhile, is also back with the squad after welcoming his second child at the start of the week, but will be the one to miss out on the final 20-man matchday squad.

Liverpool’s 21-Man Travelling Squad

Goalkeepers: Alisson, Mamardashvili, Woodman

Defenders: Van Dijk, Jacquet, Araujo, Gomez, Frimpong, Kerkez, Tsimikas

Midfielders: Gravenberch, Mac Allister, Szoboszlai, Wirtz, Nyoni

Forwards: Barcola, Munoz, Ngumoha, Gakpo, Isak, Koumas

Left out: Chambers, Endo, McConnell, Bradley (injury), Leoni (injury), Ekitike (injury), Chiesa (injury)

With no unwanted surprises, Liverpool’s travelling squad ensures Iraola can name his strongest-possible starting XI against his former club, with only question marks over his choices on the wings.

Cody Gakpo was the only wide option to play the full 90 minutes on Tuesday, while Victor Munoz was left unused on the bench, and Bradley Barcola replaced Rio Ngumoha late on.

With a five-day gap between games, Iraola has had ample time to rest and prepare his starters for the trip to Bournemouth.
