Temperatures will be in the mid 60s to start the game, increasing to the upper 60s as the game progresses. Relative humidity will be very high, in the lower to mid 90% range throughout the game. There will be an 85% chance of rainfall to start the game, decreasing to 70% by game’s end. The rain will fall at a fairly steady, moderate rate.
The cool and rainy conditions will make sharp cuts on the field more difficult for the players. The ball will also be slippery, potentially contributing to some dropped passes and perhaps some turnovers. In general, rainy conditions favor the running game, particularly a power running game, and negatively impact the passing game. With the rain not expected to be particularly heavy, however, the weather’s impact on the game should be fairly minimal for the players. For the fans the cool and wet conditions aren’t ideal.
