_“When you get top young players like this, they’re always going to attract interest from other clubs, but Liverpool are confident that his long-term future will be at Anfield.”_
**Liverpool must keep hold of Rio Ngumoha at all costs**
--------------------------------------------------------
Liverpool cannot even entertain the idea of letting Ngumoha leave the club any time soon, considering he is one of their most exciting young players in years.
The winger is dazzling when in full flow, and is now a genuine option for Andoni Iraola, with [Jamie Redknapp](https://www.liverpool.com/liverpool-fc-news/features/jamie-redknapp-praises-liverpool-wonderkids-32537276) waxing lyrical over his ability in the recent past:
_“I’d watched him since he was seven or eight years of age, he’s got this God-given talent, pace, when he picks up the ball, I’ve never seen anyone with such fast feet. That was the one thing I thought he could improve, but certainly at Liverpool with his finishing, he’s doing that, he’s getting better, he’s getting end product.”_
Liverpool will be aware that Ngumoha will want regular football, with his head potentially being turned if that doesn’t happen, and there is no reason why that won’t be the case this season.
Granted, Bradley Barcola has come in as the first choice on the left wing, but both he and Ngumoha can play on the right, too, and there will be plenty of opportunities across four competitions.
