After putting up 59 points against the Carolina Panthers in Week 1, the Chicago Bears were still searching for their first touchdown in the fourth quarter of Week 2 against the Minnesota Vikings. It looked like they were heading towards getting it with Caleb Williams taking off for a run, but he was slowed down by a non-contact injury.

Williams fell to the field and rolled over in pain for some time, and was eventually helped off the field in a cart. Tyson Bagent came in to replace Williams afterward.

Williams was ruled out for the game with a hamstring injury.

It's not good to make assumptions about injuries, but it's never good to see non-contact ones and then the cart comes out for the player. It doesn't make it any better that it was Williams, who is the driving force for the Bears and their success. There will probably be more updates on Williams as the day continues, and the Bears can only hope that they get some sort of good news.

Williams showed last week that he was ready to take another step in his game this season, and the Bears were set to be one of the better teams in the NFC this season. That might be on pause right now as the team waits on the status of their franchise quarterback.

If Williams has to miss extended time, it wouldn't be a shock if the Bears signed another quarterback to the roster. Bagent will get the chance to lead the offense, but if things don't pan out the best with him, they'd want to have more options to rely on throughout the season.
