Premier League champions Arsenal suffered a shock 3-0 defeat against Brighton and Hove Albion on Saturday.
The Gunners had won all four of their league matches prior to their trip to The Amex, but goals from Pascal Gross and Charalampos Kostoulas put the Seagulls in control at the break.
Chema Andres then headed in a third for the hosts in the second-half, leaving Mikel Arteta’s side shellshocked.
The Gunners now sit three points behind leaders Manchester City going into the international break, with Arsenal’s next league game being against Leeds United on October 10.
In the wake of their shock defeat on the south coast, it has emerged that Arsenal have been scouting a highly rated Bundesliga forward.
As per TEAMtalk, the Gunners have been scouting Borussia Dortmund attacker Maximilian Beier and have been hugely impressed with the player’s performances.

The report claims that the Premier League champions have been assessing a number of options as they consider possible targets to bolster their attack in the future.
Beier, 23, is one of the names on their shortlist, and the report suggests that the club’s scouts have been hugely impressed by the Dortmund star’s performances.
Having joined Dortmund from fellow German side Hoffenheim in 2024, Beier has since scored 21 goals in 97 games for the club across all competitions, as well as registering 19 assists.
So far this season the attacker – who can play centrally or on either flank – has registered a combined three goals and assists in four Bundesliga games for Dortmund.
The player’s contract with his current side is set to run until the end of the 2028/29 season, but the report suggests that he is of increasing interest to Arsenal.
Beier’s versatility is said to appeal to Arsenal, as the Germany international can play as a striker, attacking midfielder or as a winger.
Arsenal have been able to watch him closely this season as their academy graduate, Ethan Nwaneri, is currently on loan at the German club.
