An insight into the length of the incoming injury absence potentially facing Barcelona star Andreas Christensen has been forthcoming online. This comes amid the understanding that the Dane could yet be sidelined long-term.

Christensen was for his part forced into a premature departure from Barcelona’s latest outing.

En route to a 3-1 Blaugrana downing of Sevilla on Saturday evening, the former Chelsea man featured from the off, only to limp off during the 2nd-half with a fitness complaint.

From here, an ensuing round of medical tests confirmed that Christensen has suffered ‘a left thigh strain’.

And as alluded to above, if the latest word stemming from the Spanish media is anything to go by, then the issue could yet see the defender sidelined into November.

As per a report from journalist Santi Ovalle of Carrusel Deportivo:

‘Andreas Christensen: muscle tear in the anterior rectus of the left quadriceps. Out for between 4 and 6 weeks.’
