Cole Palmer snubbed Old Trafford when naming an English stadium as the 'best he's ever played at'. That comes despite the Chelsea superstar being a self-professed boyhood Manchester United fan growing up.
The Englishman's record against the Red Devils stands at four goals in just seven appearances, including having scored at the Theatre of Dreams during a 2-1 loss back in 2023.
Palmer, however, prefers another Premier League stadium to it. He revealed his love for an iconic venue during a Twitch stream in which he was replying to comments while playing FIFA.

The 24-year-old has played in a gluttony of stadiums, having been part of Premier League, Champions League, and Europa Conference League squads across the early stages of his club career.
Palmer also has 14 England caps to his name, and has therefore experienced a host of international stadiums. But when asked by a Twitch viewer about the best, he responded, without much hesitation (see below):
"Best ground I've ever played at? Ummmm, Anfield's a good stadium, yeah..."

Liverpool's legendary home continues to be raved about by professionals, despite it encompassing a mythical reputation among rival supporters for not being as loud as it used to be.
A traditional four-sided stadium that is close to the pitch, Anfield fits a dying breed of football ground as more and more clubs move away from the norm and build soulless bowls.

While Arsene Wenger and Jose Mourinho were wowed and full of praise for the travelling Reds during the 2019 Champions League final, it wasn't the first time the latter had waxed lyrical, as he also once said: "If Stamford Bridge can give us even 25% of the emotion Anfield gives Liverpool, I think we can do it."
Cristiano Ronaldo named Anfield as the "most intimidating Premier League stadium" he had ever visited, Pep Guardiola once claimed "you'll find an atmosphere at Anfield that you'll find nowhere else in the world", and the late great Johan Cruyff also said:
“I stood on the pitch at Anfield with goosebumps. Not because I was scared of our opponents but because of the atmosphere. I had never seen anything like this – the passion for the game, and how much the fans wanted their team to win, and it made me think that one day I would like to play in England.
"Unfortunately, that dream didn’t come to pass because in those days borders were still closed to foreign players. Even today I still think that was a terrible shame.”
Sir Alex Ferguson, Diego Maradona, and Xavi are among a litany of other football megastars that have laid praise on the Liverpool fans, proving that "This is Anfield" is not just a marketing spin, but it means so much more. On many occasions, the Reds' supporters have sucked the ball into the back of the net.
