Arsenal have entered an extended international break with 19 players heading away from north London for senior and youth international duty.
Mikel Arteta’s side will not play again until Leeds United visit the Emirates Stadium on Saturday 10 October, giving the Gunners three weeks to recover from their 3-0 Premier League defeat at Brighton.
The new international calendar means this window runs from 21 September until 6 October. Most European nations will play four times rather than the usual two.
According to Arseblog’s full Arsenal international breakdown, 17 members of Arteta’s first-team group have received senior call-ups. Academy prospects Max Dowman and Marli Salmon are also travelling with England youth sides.
Here is the complete Arsenal international break tracker.
Arsenal international players with England
Five Arsenal players have been selected by Thomas Tuchel.
Bukayo Saka, Declan Rice, Eberechi Eze, Myles Lewis-Skelly and Ezri Konsa are all part of the England squad.
England confirmed their squad ahead of four UEFA Nations League matches.
England vs Spain, 26 September
Czechia vs England, 29 September
Croatia vs England, 3 October
England vs Czechia, 6 October
Rice heads into the break after reaching 300 Premier League starts at Brighton, while Lewis-Skelly has again been trusted at senior level.
Saka and Eze also provide Arsenal with two attacking players whose workload will be worth monitoring before Leeds.
Raya, Zubimendi and Merino join Spain
David Raya, Martin Zubimendi and Mikel Merino have all been selected by Spain.
Their Nations League programme begins against England at Wembley.
England vs Spain, 26 September
Spain vs Croatia, 29 September
Spain vs Czechia, 3 October
Croatia vs Spain, 6 October
The late Croatia fixture means their return and recovery will be particularly relevant when Arteta begins final preparations for Leeds.
Odegaard captains Norway through four fixtures
Martin Odegaard will once again lead Norway during a demanding Nations League schedule.
Norway face Denmark and Portugal at home before trips to Wales and Portugal.
Norway vs Denmark, 24 September
Norway vs Portugal, 27 September
Wales vs Norway, 1 October
Portugal vs Norway, 4 October
Odegaard’s minutes will be among the most important to monitor given his role at the heart of Arsenal’s midfield.
Timber returns to Netherlands duty
Jurrien Timber has been called up by the Netherlands.
His first match could provide a significant test, with Germany visiting on the opening night of the Nations League campaign.
Netherlands vs Germany, 24 September
Serbia vs Netherlands, 27 September
Greece vs Netherlands, 1 October
Netherlands vs Serbia, 4 October
The international minutes should also provide another indication of Timber’s fitness after his recent return.
Calafiori, Tzolis and Gyokeres head across Europe
Riccardo Calafiori has been selected by Italy for four Nations League games.
Italy vs Belgium, 25 September
Türkiye vs Italy, 28 September
France vs Italy, 2 October
Italy vs Türkiye, 5 October
Christos Tzolis will represent Greece.
Serbia vs Greece, 24 September
Germany vs Greece, 27 September

Greece vs Germany, 4 October
Viktor Gyokeres is also away with Sweden.

Bosnia and Herzegovina vs Sweden, 2 October
Romania vs Sweden, 5 October
UEFA’s official Nations League schedule confirms the unusually busy four-match programme across the window.
Kai Havertz gets Germany call-up
Kai Havertz has also been selected by Germany.
Germany’s expanded squad has an unusual structure, with Havertz currently expected to feature in the opening two matches before returning to Arsenal.
Netherlands vs Germany, 24 September
Germany vs Greece, 27 September
That could leave Arteta with Havertz back at London Colney earlier than many of Arsenal’s other internationals.
Gabriel and Bruno Guimaraes face major Brazil travel
Gabriel Magalhaes and Bruno Guimaraes have been called up by Brazil.
Their schedule creates one of the most demanding travel programmes within Arteta’s squad.
Australia vs Brazil, 25 September
Australia vs Brazil, 29 September
India vs Brazil, 3 October
Both players should still have several days to recover before Leeds, but their travel and minutes will need monitoring.
Hincapie heads away with Ecuador
Piero Hincapie has also received an international call-up despite recent fitness concerns.
Ecuador have scheduled two Asian friendlies.
South Korea vs Ecuador, 24 September
Japan vs Ecuador, 1 October
That makes Hincapie particularly important to track after his name featured in Arsenal’s recent injury picture alongside Ben White and Cristhian Mosquera.
Any physical setback would immediately affect Arteta’s defensive options for Leeds.
Dowman and Salmon earn England youth call-ups
Two academy players will also represent England.
Max Dowman joins the England Under-19 squad for matches against Ireland, Norway, the United States and Belgium between 25 September and 5 October.
Marli Salmon is with England Under-18s, who are due to face Colombia, Egypt and South Korea during their own international programme.
Their performances provide another storyline to follow during a period when Arsenal’s senior domestic schedule is paused.
Which Arsenal players remain at London Colney?
Several members of Arteta’s squad will remain with Arsenal.
Ben White, William Saliba and Cristhian Mosquera are among those not heading away because of fitness issues or non-selection.
Noni Madueke has also not been selected by England.
That gives Arteta and his medical staff an extended opportunity to work with several players before the Premier League resumes.
Arsenal’s official 2026/27 calendar confirms that the international window finishes on 6 October.
The Gunners then host Leeds United on Saturday 10 October.
This tracker will be updated throughout the break with appearances, minutes, goals, assists, injuries and return information for every Arsenal player on international duty.
