Mohamed Belloumi’s father Lakhdar Belloumi says his son deserves to be playing for one of the biggest clubs in Europe and winning titles with the likes of Barcelona or Manchester City. A former Algeria national team manager, Belloumi senior has been speaking to the press after the City player won a recall to the Algeria team for the upcoming games this international break.
Belloumi senior has made it clear his son's focus is on the Tigers right now and he's not looking to leave, but did make it clear the level he believes he should be playing at in the future.
“All his focus right now is on Hull City. If we receive any major offer, we wouldn’t object to him leaving," Lakhdar Belloumi told Win Win.
"With all due respect to Hull City, but at this level, he deserves to play for a bigger club competing for domestic and continental titles, such as Barcelona, Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain, Marseille and Manchester City."

Belloumi, who was subject to some transfer interest in the summer, has made a terrific start to life in the Premier League with City. Having scored both goals in the draw with Chelsea, the attacker could have added to his tally for the season at Newcastle in what was another impressive display.
The level of his performances for the Tigers so far this season has won the 24-year-old winger a recall to the Algeria team for their upcoming Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Zambia and Burundi, with his father delighted to see the family name continue with the national team.
He added; "Mohamed dreamed of turning pro, and his goal was to play in Europe. So, I told him, ‘Do whatever you want’. We took the criticism he faced during his time in Algeria in stride, as if it were meaningless.
“My son has always strived to achieve his dream, and I think what he’s accomplished now is the best response to all those who criticised him, claiming he was playing solely because of his name. He always tells me, ‘I’ve fulfilled your dream of turning pro, playing abroad, and competing at the highest level’. This is just the beginning, God willing, he’ll continue.
“Mohamed’s performance with Hull City earned him a spot on the Algerian national team in style. God willing, he’ll do Algeria proud in upcoming competitions and keep the Beloumi name alive in Arab and world football.”
