Brock Bowers missed Week 2 following his early September meniscus trim, but it sounds like we could see the star tight end before long. While a lot can happen between now and the start of Week 3, head coach Klint Kubiak’s most recent statement suggests he’s close to returning to the field. In a recent interview, the 2-0 head coach said that Bowers is “close, very close” to returning while adding that Bowers “looks great.”

Brock Bowers Unlikely to Play In Week 2
It goes without saying that this is fantastic news for the Raiders. The star tight end underwent a meniscus trim on September 8th, and while he believed he’d be able to return in a week or two, the rest of the team wasn’t quite so optimistic. As of this posting, it appears as though he’ll be ready to play in Week 3, which is great for a team that surprisingly finds itself with an undefeated record through two weeks.
After beating the Miami Dolphins in Week 1, the Las Vegas Raiders marched into Los Angeles without Brock Bowers as seven-point underdogs. Despite the unfavorable odds, the team pulled off a convincing 26-14 victory. Quarterback Kirk Cousins completed 19 of his 29 attempts for 253 yards and three touchdowns while Tre Tucker had a dominant five-catch, 119-yard performance.
Brock Bowers hasn’t exactly been the picture of health since entering the league, but he’s one of the NFL’s best tight ends when healthy. A first-round pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, Bowers has made two Pro Bowls throughout his young career and has recorded 176 receptions for 1,874 yards and 12 touchdowns since entering the league. His best season came as a rookie, when he finished with 112 receptions for 1,194 yards and five touchdowns on 153 receptions. He’s done this despite playing with subpar quarterbacks and three different head coaches.
