Alisson Becker believes Liverpool is demonstrating its capacity to adjust to challenges presented by opposition teams, while lauding the contribution of new recruit Jeremy Jacquet.

‌

The Reds maintained their undefeated record under newly-appointed head coach Andoni Iraola with a slender 1-0 triumph at Bournemouth in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon. Liverpool labored through the opening quarter before establishing itself in the contest, with Alexander Isak netting the decisive goal shortly before the hour mark.

‌

Iraola's outfit recovered from losing positions to secure draws against Newcastle United and Nottingham Forest earlier in the campaign, and overturned an early setback to defeat Atletico Madrid in their Champions League curtain-raiser a fortnight ago.

And Alisson believes Liverpool is drawing confidence from its capacity to battle its way to victories this term, reports the Liverpool Echo.

"It was really important," he said of the victory. "Every Premier League match away from home is tough to play. You have to fight a lot, and this wasn't any different for us.

"It wasn't the cleanest performance we've had, but those games if you don't play so well and you still win it with a clean sheet, it gives confidence for the team for the rest of the season.

"We have to improve a lot on the ball, sometimes without the ball as well.

"But we proved in the second half to win games (you have) to adapt to the opponents and what they are doing and to the difficulties you are having in a match and then fight against it and try to get the results."

Jacquet, making just his fifth Premier League outing since his potential $80 million (£60M) summer transfer from Rennes, impressed at center-back partnering Virgil van Dijk as Liverpool registered a third consecutive top-flight clean sheet for the first time since Arne Slot's tenure began two years ago.

Alisson commented: "Jeremy played really well, Virgil, the back four, Milos (Kerkez) and Ronald (Araujo), the midfielders helped us a lot defensively.

"Jeremy has so much quality of course, it's not the hardest job in the world to play alongside Virgil van Dijk, Virgil helped him a lot, Ronald as well is someone who came to make us more solid defensively and he's delivering as well.

"We are really happy to have them on our side."

Bournemouth registered just two attempts on goal but Alisson guaranteed a clean sheet with an astute low save from Evanilson at his near post during the opening period.

Speaking to LFC TV, he explained: "At big clubs sometimes you don't have much to do, and then you need to be ready to make one save that can help the team.

"That's part of my job and I'm there for it. I'm happy that it contributed to three points and to get the clean sheet.

"Well done to the defenders and the team as well, it was a really good fight."
